About Us

Krugersdorp Golf Glub is one of the oldest clubs on the West Rand. You are very much out in the country when playing this fine golf course, and the huge variety of colourful bird life, indigenous trees, shrubbery, wild, exotic flowering plants

Krugersdorp is an attractive and challenging parkland course on the western outskirts of Gauteng, which enjoys a lower profile due to its relative isolation outside the “golfing belt.” It offers attractive views of the Magaliesberg range to the north.

The challenge of the course comes in its many dogleg holes, the tree-lined fairways – it’s a softly undulating property – and well-protected greens, either with bunkers or water hazards. There are three par-5s in the first seven holes, and the front nine par is 37 to the back’s 35. There are five strong par 4s in the last six holes, the downhill 18th being the shortest of them.

The club has enjoyed a strong and loyal membership. Among several who played for South Africa at senior and junior level was Arthur Stewart, who won the 1958 SA Open in Bloemfontein as an amateur, and 1957 SA Amateur at Humewood. More recent stars have been the De Smidt brothers, Ruan and Darin, sons of former club GM Derek de Smidt, who passed in 2021, and Simon du Plooy, currently in the SA international squad.

The clubhouse has an attractive 19th hole in the form of a large lapa sheltering the central courtyard.
